Society for the Advancement of Management (SAM)
SAM promotes interaction with professionals in all disciplines and increases awareness and knowledge of career opportunities. It encourages cross-functional participation in activities that will benefit students' choice of career and future success. All business students are eligible to join. Regularly scheduled bi-weekly meetings include speakers, plant tours, fund-raisers, case competition, and if funds exist, trips to the National SAM conference.

SAM Club recruiting event-
The leaders of SAM hosted a table at the College of Business Student Organization Fair. We recruited many new members and are excited to see what the future holds for this unique group. SAM Guest Speaker Series – Entrepreneurship Talk- SAM hosted its Guest Speaker Series and honorably invited EKU MBA alumna Peifeng (Allen) Yang to talk to students and share his entrepreneurship story on October 18, 2022.
Allen received his MBA degree with Beta Gamma Sigma honor from EKU. He served as President of International Student Association while studying at EKU. Allen started his career as a senior Global Business Development Manager at Red Herring. Later on, he became a serial entrepreneur while engaging in different new ventures. Allen was the Founder and CEO of Jiapin.com which was invested by Intel Capital and Macys, and the Founder and CEO of Lemonquest’s Great China operation. He then served as the President & Partner of Bayline E-commerce which was among top three in the Chinese ecom agency market. Bayline was later acquired by the largest Asian PR company, Blue Focus Communication Group. Allen is currently the Founder & CEO of Red Harp Corp. Red Harp Corp. offers integrated Sales and Marom solutions to emerging global brands such as Philips, Keep, Amazfit and so on. Allen has rich cross-border business experience in the US, Europe and China. He was elected as “one of the Top 25 Chinese influencing Fashion industry” by Forbes in 2012.
SAM Gets Funded- SAM’s funding application to the Student Government Association was approved with $1,145.58 appropriation. SAM is working on making best use of the fund to plan for on-campus events and recruit new members. One on-campus event for the semester is Sustainability Awareness Event. The purpose is to generate awareness to the essentials and importance of business sustainability, and conserve for the future. During the event SAM will pass along free recycled notebooks so students can decorate them with art tapes, stickers, and markers.
