MMAC selects Jeff Hechemy as 2008 distinguished alum
EKU's Department of Management, Marketing and Administrative Communication is pleased to announce that Mr. Jeff E. Hechemy has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2008.
Mr. Hechemy was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 4, 2008, at the annual College of Business and Technology Professional Skills Conference senior recognition luncheon.
The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.
Mr. Hechemy earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from EKU in 1994.
Mr. Hechemy has been a Regional Vice President – Healthcare East for Affiliated Computer Services Inc., since January 2004. He served as a Division Vice President for ACS from March 2001 to December 2003 and a Strategic Business Unit Manager from May 2000 to February 2001. In July 2007, the Project Management Office (PMO) was assigned to his region to allow for additional focus on project start-ups. Over the last 5 years, he has been a key contributor to the growth of the Healthcare Payer Line of Business.
Mr. Hechemy provides clear leadership in the areas of customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Over the last three years he has been assigned budgets that varied from $70 million to $110 million annually and is responsible for approximately 2,000 employees in various ACS locations within the United States, India, Jamaica, the Philippines, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, and Africa.
Mr. Hechemy attended Eastern Kentucky University and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management. During this time, he was also a member of the EKU’s men’s tennis team playing the number one position. Mr. Hechemy returned to EKU for graduate studies and completed his Masters of Business Administration in 1997.

The college also honored distinguished seniors for the year as selected by their respective departments within the College of Business and Technology. Ms. Krystal Miller, a management and accounting double major from Greenville, Ky., was selected as the MMAC departmental distinguished senior. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2007-08 academic year were recognized. Students were honored for outstanding achievement and more than 40 area employers were on hand to engage in networking activities with college graduating seniors.
