MMAC selects Al Ramirez as 2005 distinguished alum

EKU's Department of Management, Marketing and Administrative Communication is pleased to announce that Mr. Al Ramirez has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2005.

Mr. Ramirez was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 1, 2005, at the annual College of Business and Technology Professional Skills Conference senior recognition luncheon.

The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.

Mr. Ramirez began his career in 1972 with the US Treasury Department in Washington, DC.  Over the years, he has been associated with Ford Motor Company, Ameritech Corporation, Exchange Cubed LLC, Fortune Computing.com and is now Managing Partner of ANR Resources, a minority-owned logistics management company. 

He has proven leadership records in both domestic and international business.  During his tenure as Chief Financial Officer of Ameritech’s Consumer Division, he managed revenues in excess of $5 billion.  He also serves on the Advisory Board of Directors for MATAV in Budapest, Hungary. 

Mr. Ramirez maintains professional relationships with the Michigan State University Graduate School of Labor and Industrial Relations and the Vanderbilt University Graduate School of Business.  He is joined today by his wife, Angie Ramirez. 

The college also honored distinguished seniors for the year as selected by their respective departments within the College of Business and Technology. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2004-05 academic year were recognized. Students were honored for outstanding achievement and more than 40 area employers were on hand to engage in networking activities with college graduating seniors.
