McGee named 2013 MMIB distinguished senior

Ms. Rebekah McGee has been named the 2013 Distinguished Senior for EKU's Department of Management, Marketing and International Business. She was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 5, 2013, at the annual College of Business and Technology College to Careers senior recognition luncheon.

The student is selected based on superior academic achievement, excellent leadership, citizenship, character and services to EKU.

McGee, a human resource management major from Mount Vernon, Ky., plans to graduate this coming December. During her time at EKU, she has earned numerous distinctions and served in leadership capacities across campus.  She is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha Sigma Lambda, and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) for both the National and Bluegrass organizations.

Community service is an important part of her life.  She is the secretary/treasurer for Joyful Life Ministries and has served as a team captain and participant for in events for diabetes as well as Junior Achievement.  She is a foster parent who loves writing poetry, blogging, reading, ballroom dancing and supporting local artists.

At the luncheon, the college honored distinguished seniors and distinguished alumni from each of the academic departments within the College of Business and Technology. Dr. Will McIntosh was selected as the MMIB departmental distinguished alum. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2012-13 academic year were recognized. Students were honored for outstanding achievement and more than 40 area employers were on hand to engage in networking activities with college graduating seniors.
