Scholar Athletes: Nicki Henry and Emilie Simmons

Nicki Henry and Emilie Simmons

Two EKU School of Business golfers have been named All-American Scholars. Senior Nicki Henry, from Chagrin Falls, Oh., and junior Emilie Simmons, from Marseille, France, were among the four EKU golfers selected as Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars.

"It is an outstanding accomplishment to have four of our student-athletes chosen as All-American Scholars," said head coach Mike Whitson.  "These four Colonels work very hard in the classroom and I'm always pleased with the way they represent EKU on and off the course."

Only 12 Division I teams produced more All-American Scholars than EKU this year.  Only 29 programs matched Eastern's four honorees.

A total of 758 women's collegiate golfers from across NCAA Division I, II and III were recognized with the prestigious honor.  The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics.  The minimum cumulative GPA for selection is 3.50.
